Kurdistan PM Meets with Dutch Ambassador to Discuss Relations, Political Developments
Erbil, Kurdistan Region - The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani, met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iraq, Hans Sandee, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on the general situation and the latest developments in the political landscape in Iraq, as well as exploring ways to enhance relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Netherlands.
The meeting also focused on the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the constitutional rights of the region. In this regard, the prime minister emphasized the necessity of adhering to and implementing the agreements that have been signed between the two sides. He underscored that Iraq's security and stability rely on the implementation of the constitution and the respect for these agreements.
Regarding the internal situation of the Kurdistan Region, the Prime Minister stressed that they will not permit the region's internal affairs to fall victim to unconstitutional and irresponsible demands. He also reiterated the need for prompt elections to be held for the Kurdistan Parliament.
The Dutch ambassador to Iraq expressed his country's willingness to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region in various domains and reiterated the Netherlands' support for enhancing and developing the Kurdistan Region within the framework of a federal Iraq.
