UAE Provides Financial Aid to Displaced Families in Kurdistan Region

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has provided financial aid to over 5,000 displaced families in the Kurdistan Region. The announcement was made by Ahmed al-Dhaheri, the UAE Consul-General to Erbil, during a press conference on Tuesday.

Al-Dhaheri said that the UAE is committed to helping those in need, and that the financial assistance will help the displaced families meet their basic needs. He also expressed gratitude for the continuous support of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in distributing and delivering aid to the affected families.

The collaboration between the UAE and the Barzani Charity Foundation, led by PM Barzani, has spanned 12 years. The recent distribution of financial assistance to 5,444 refugees in the Kurdistan Region was carried out by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

The Consul-General highlighted the strong relations between the UAE and the Kurdistan Region at both the leadership and people's level, praising PM Barzani's efforts to develop relations with various countries, including the UAE, given its economic and political significance.

The Kurdistan Region has made significant strides in enhancing its ties with the UAE, as evidenced by PM Barzani's visit to the country and his meetings with high-ranking officials. Furthermore, the UAE's acceptance of pomegranate exports from the Kurdistan Regional Government reflects their commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting Kurdish produce globally.

The financial aid provided by the UAE is a welcome gesture that will help the displaced families in the Kurdistan Region rebuild their lives. The UAE's support for the Kurdistan Region is a testament to the strong ties between the two countries.
