Erbil Province Celebrates Successful Eid al-Fitr Holiday with Over 63,000 Tourists Visiting

The Erbil province has declared a successful Eid al-Fitr holiday, with more than 63,000 tourists visiting the city.

In a statement by the Erbil governorate's media office, it was confirmed that all necessary security plans were implemented successfully for the safety of the city and its citizens. Special committees were formed to provide tourists with necessary services at checkpoints, and contact numbers for the committees were distributed to tourist groups to assist in case of any incidents or problems.

The governorate provided tourists with drinking water, sweets, and necessary directions at the entrances to the province, as well as instructing restaurants to remain open during the holiday to welcome tourists. Prices in tourist areas were also monitored.

All security plans and preparations were implemented successfully, and the security forces were constantly ready during the holiday. The police stations in Erbil were on standby, with all police plans successfully implemented.

However, despite the success of the holiday, 20 crimes were reported, and four of them are currently under investigation. Additionally, there were four traffic accidents, resulting in one death and three injuries, due to drivers not complying with speed regulations. In total, seven fires broke out, but they were all extinguished without any injuries.

The Erbil province's successful management of the holiday led to a positive experience for tourists who visited the city. However, the incidents that occurred serve as a reminder of the importance of following safety guidelines to avoid regrettable outcomes.

Overall, the Erbil governorate's media office confirmed that the necessary steps were taken to ensure the safety and well-being of tourists during the holiday period, and they appreciate the cooperation of all tourists during this time.
