In a statement on Kurdish Press Day, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, congratulated all Kurdish journalists and media professionals and expressed his hope that their primary goal would be to convey accurate and reliable information and serve the people of Kurdistan while defending their rights.

He added that the Kurdistan Regional Government would spare no effort in supporting this endeavor and establishing a healthy and safe environment for journalists to perform their duties freely and in accordance with the law, professional ethics, and global standards.

The statement also expressed the hope that Kurdish journalists and media professionals would contribute to promoting and preserving social peace, strengthening the culture of religious and national coexistence, as well as paying attention to national issues and defending the experience of the Kurdistan Region as a legal, constitutional entity and a source of hope for all Kurds.

The Prime Minister called on the media not to become platforms for spreading extremist ideas, inciting violence, or insulting people, values, and national symbols.

The statement ended with an expression of respect and appreciation for all Kurdish journalists, writers, and intellectuals who have contributed to the cultural and intellectual life of the Kurdistan Region.
