On Thursday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq, Pedro Martinez-Avial.

The Prime Minister congratulated the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain and wished him success in his mission for the betterment of Spain's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

The Spanish ambassador expressed his country's readiness to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in the field of trade and investment, and is preparing to open a Spanish consulate in Erbil.
