PM Barzani allocates budget to protect Kurdistan sites
With the approval of Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, 900 million dinars are spent annually to revitalize archaeological sites.
Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, said that due to the 10-year crises, it was not possible to allocate the necessary budget to the archaeological sites sector.
The Prime Minister has now agreed to allocate 900 million dinars annually to develop this sector, and the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism aims to make Kurdistan the prominant destination in the world.
The Minister of Municipalities and Tourism believes that 900 million dinars will lead to the revitalization of the archaeological sites sector in the Kurdistan Region, adding that the budget approved by the Prime Minister will affect the revitalization of the archaeological sites sector.
The Minister of Municipalities and Tourism reiterated that they are doing their best to make Kurdistan Region a global destination for archaeological sites.
