defense industry cooperation agreement signed between Turkey and Iraq
Turkey and Iraq signed the Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement at IDEF 2021.
The Turkish “trt haber” channel, according to what was translated by the New Turk Post, stated that the cooperation agreement in the field of defense industries was signed by Ismail Demir, head of the Presidency of Defense Industries, and Muhammad Sahib Al-Daraji, head of the Military Industrialization Council of the Republic of Iraq.
The agreement covers the principles of mutual cooperation activities to be implemented in the defense industry between the two countries by institutionalizing cooperation between Turkey and Iraq.
It is expected that there will be "defense industry cooperation meetings" at regular intervals.
“trt haber” channel reported that the SSI agreement includes direct supply, development, production, sale of all types of defense industry products and services needed by the parties’ security institutions, maintenance, modernization of systems and platforms in stock, technology transfer, training, exchange of information and documents.
"Defense Industrial Cooperation Meetings" will be held at regular intervals and visits of official and technical delegations will ensure the maturity and follow-up of cooperation issues identified in these meetings within the scope of this agreement.
