Iraq confirms withdrawal of forces from international coalition to Kuwait
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, announced on Monday that the withdrawal of the international coalition forces towards Kuwait came within the outcomes of the strategic dialogue.
The Iraqi News Agency quoted Rasoul as saying, "the international coalition forces that withdrew towards Kuwait are the first force to withdraw from Iraq," noting that "this came within the outcomes of the strategic dialogue, especially after Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's visit to the United States of America."
He added, "the withdrawal process will continue until December 31, next," noting that "the only ones left are the advisers for the purpose of training, and they will be protected by the Iraqi forces," according to what was reported by the German news agency.
On Saturday, the international coalition forces led by the United States of America announced the withdrawal of their forces from Iraq to their original bases in Buring Camp in Kuwait.
Rasoul revealed that the Iraqi armed forces have drawn up plans to secure the polling stations and protect the voter, stressing that there is tireless work on the part of the joint operations to secure the polling stations and ensure freedom for the voter to reach the polling station. He said, "our mission will be to secure the polling stations, and we have nothing to do with working inside the polling station."
