On Sunday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received the Ambassador of the European Union to Iraq, Martin Huth, who is visiting the Kurdistan Region on the occasion of the end of his duties.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the ambassador's efforts during his tenure and his role in strengthening the European Union's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, wishing him success in his future assignments.

The Ambassador of the European Union to Iraq directed his thanks and appreciation to the relevant institutions of the Kurdistan Regional Government for their coordination and cooperation and for the facilities they provided for the work of the European Union mission, and indicated that the European Union would continue to support the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides also discussed the general situation in Iraq, especially the ongoing preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
