President Barzani receives European Union Ambassador to Iraq
On Sunday, President Masoud Barzani received in Salah al-Din the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Martin Huth.
During the meeting, which took place on the occasion of the end of the missions of the European Union ambassador in Baghdad, the European ambassador expressed his appreciation for the prosperity and stability of the Kurdistan Region, and blessed the gains made by the region in various economic, administrative and security fields, stressing that the European Union will continue to support the Kurdistan Region in the coming stages as well.
The political situation, risks and threats facing the political process and the upcoming elections in Iraq were also discussed in the meeting.
The two sides also stressed that strengthening and improving relations between the region and Baghdad will help increase Iraq's stability.
The security and political situation in Syria and the future of the Kurds in Syria were another focus of the meeting.
