President Barzani condemns the terrorist attack on Sadr City in Baghdad
President Massoud Barzani strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted innocent civilians in a market in Sadr City in Baghdad yesterday.
"I strongly condemn the terrorist attack on innocent civilians in a market in Sadr City in Baghdad yesterday, which resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of civilians," President Barzani wrote in a statement.
President Barzani added, "These crimes are a sign of extreme indifference and brutality on the part of the terrorists who commit such heinous crimes on the Day of Arafa while people were preparing for Eid."
President Barzani describes the perpetrators as "enemies of religion, humanity and holiness," and said that they "must pay for their sins."
President Barzani expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and martyrs in the tragedy, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.
An explosive device exploded in Al-Wailat Market in Sadr City, Baghdad, on Monday evening. The market was crowded with shoppers in preparation for the Eid al-Adha holiday.
