On Sunday, President Massoud Barzani welcomed the new US Consul General in Erbil, Robert Palladino in Salahuddin.

The meeting, which was attended by former US Consul General in Erbil Rob Waller, discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region, the upcoming elections in Iraq and the region's political process.

During the meeting, the new US Consul General stressed that his country wants a strong and united Kurdistan Region, and that the United States has always respected the will and resilience of the people of Kurdistan, and stressed that the United States is concerned about the political and security situation in Iraq.

At the same meeting, the principles of coexistence, freedom and equality were emphasized as a basis for stability and development.

During the meeting, President Barzani thanked the former US Consul General for his hard work in Erbil and wished success to the new US Consul General in his duties.
