President Barzani receives Deputy coalition commander

President Masoud Barzani, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and former president of the Kurdistan Region, received in Salahuddin, on Wednesday, British Army Brigadier General Richard Bell, the deputy commanding general of the international anti-ISIS forces.

During the meeting, the deputy commanding general of the international anti-ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria extended his condolences to President Barzani and the people of Kurdistan on the killings of the peshmergas martyred by the PKK on Mount Matin and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.

At the same meeting, the deputy commanding general of the international anti-ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria briefed President Barzani on the coalition's efforts to confront ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria.

Elsewhere in the meeting, the creation of a coordination center between the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces and Iraqi forces to protect areas from terrorist threats, as well as steps to form a joint force for both sides, was described as important and productive.

Efforts to unite the Peshmerga forces and carry out reforms in the Ministry of Peshmerga were another highlight of the meeting, and the deputy commanding general of the international anti-ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria stressed the importance of uniting the Peshmerga forces.
