president of Kurdistan Region meets British Foreign Secretary
British Foreign Secretary Dominic Rab visited Erbil and met with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani.
The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab held a meeting in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, on Wednesday in the presence of several officials.
"We value our relations with Britain and thank them for their continued support to the Kurdish people," Kurdistan Regional President Nechirvan Barzani said at the press conference.
"It was an important beginning to build a friendly international relationship, and since then our relationship with the United Kingdom has always continued," he added.
On the other hand, British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab stated, “The UK is very committed to deepening that partnership; in trade, in business and all the areas the president described.”
Dominic Rab arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday and was welcomed by his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, who later met with each of the president, prime minister and speaker of parliament. After concluding his visit to Baghdad, he arrived in the Kurdistan Region today and met with Nechirvan Barzani.
