Kurdistan Delegation Participates in Al-Nasr 2025 International Investment Exhibition in Madrid

A high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Region is taking part in the Al-Nasr 2025 International Investment Exhibition, one of the world’s largest trade and investment events, held in the Spanish capital, Madrid. The exhibition features over 2,500 companies from 156 countries, showcasing opportunities for global collaboration and investment.

The Kurdish delegation, comprising representatives from various sectors, emphasized the importance of the event in fostering international partnerships and promoting economic growth. Participating Kurdish companies highlighted the exhibition’s role in facilitating exchange and coordination, particularly in the fields of tourism and investment.

According to Ata Anwar, an official in charge of tourism companies and offices in Sulaymaniyah, the delegation’s primary goal is to introduce international businesses to the beauty and stability of the Kurdistan Region. “We came to Madrid to showcase the natural beauty and peace of Kurdistan,” Anwar told Kurdistan 24. He also confirmed that several contracts had been signed during the event, aimed at boosting tourism and investment in the region.

Ihsan Sheikh Issa, head of the Duhok Hotels and Restaurants Association, expressed gratitude to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the regional tourism board for providing the opportunity to participate. “This platform allows us to connect with global partners and promote Kurdistan as a prime destination for tourists and investors,” Sheikh Issa said.

Kurdish companies also called for increased support and attention to the exhibition in the coming years. They urged the KRG to allocate a dedicated pavilion for Kurdistan in future editions, enabling them to better showcase the region’s culture, history, and investment potential to a global audience.

Fareebor Azizi, owner of a local tourism office, highlighted the long-standing participation of Kurdish businesses in the event. “We have been attending this exhibition for 10 years,” Azizi told Kurdistan 24. “Our presence is crucial to promoting Kurdish culture and history, which in turn helps attract more tourists to the Kurdistan Region.”

The delegation’s participation in Al-Nasr 2025 underscores the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to strengthening international ties and positioning itself as a hub for tourism and investment. With several agreements already signed, the event marks a significant step forward in showcasing Kurdistan’s potential on the global stage.

As the exhibition continues, the Kurdish delegation remains optimistic about forging new partnerships and attracting more visitors and investors to the region in the years to come.
