Dr. Mohammad Khurshid: Iraq has brought a lot of forces to Kirkuk
Dangerous rumors have been circulating in Kirkuk for several days, and a PDK official says a large force has been brought to Kirkuk with heavy weapons, further complicating the situation.
Dr. Mohammad Khurshid, the head of the party's third branch in Kirkuk, told the KDP's official website, that for several days now, there have been rumors of a threat from ISIS in Kirkuk by the city's security forces, which has further complicated the situation and intimidated both themselves and the people. He also added that the Iraq's security forces have increased in numbers, and more armed forces have been deployed in front of the old KDP headquarter in Kirkuk.
"We believe that they deliberately want to increase the number of troops in Kirkuk, because although ISIS poses a threat to Kirkuk suburbs and has increased its movement, it is still not a threat to Kirkuk," he added.
Related to the establishment of a joint operating room between the Iraqi Peshmerga and the Defense Forces, Dr. Mohammad Khurshid pointed out that the establishment of a joint co-ordinating room will not affect the situation, because the Iraqi forces themselves are not subject to any military command, for example, Shiite Mobilization forces in Kirkuk are not listening to the orders of the Iraqi Armed Forces Commander, Mustafa Kazmi, and the Kirkuk Operations Command, so how can they listen to a coordination room made up of several officers.
