COVID-19 Claims nearly 40 Lives in Iraq
ERBIL - The coronavirus has claimed the lives of nearly 40 people across Iraq within the previous day, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.

While 5,837 new infections of COVID-19 have been detected, there were also 37 fatalities related to the virus during the previous day, the ministry said in a statement.

At least 4,500 patients were discharged from the hospital.

The new reports bring the coronavirus tally to 838,265, out of which 750,435 people recovered and 14,249 others lost their lives.

The epidemic situation continues to deteriorate across Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, with the majority of the infections said to be new variants of the novel virus.
