Two Coalition Convoys Carrying Logistic Supplies Targeted in Southern Iraq
ERBIL — Two convoys of the US-led Coalition carrying logistic supplies on Wednesday were targeted with improvised explosive devices in separate attacks in southern Iraq.

The first attack took place in Musanna province on a highway. Media reports said an IED was placed on the roadside and it went off after the convoy arrived.

No casualties and damages were reported from the first attack.

Elsewhere in Diwaniyah, another convoy belonging to the Coalition was targeted in a similar attack. Media reports said only one vehicle was slightly damaged.

The attacks came hours after 10 Katyusha rockets were fired towards Ain al-Asad, where the US forces are stationed. The Coalition spokesperson said no one was hurt as the result of the rocket attacks.

However, AFP cited security sources as saying that one civilian contractor was killed during today’s attack in the western province of Anbar.
