Kurdistan COVID-19 Tally Jumps to Over 107,400
ERBIL - The coronavirus tally across the Kurdistan Region has now exceeded 107,400, the autonomous region's Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

The ministry explained in its daily press release that at least 5,223 suspects have gone through medical checks within the past 24 hours, out of which 117 individuals tested positive for COVID-19.

During the same period, there were also 106 recoveries in the region, the press release said, adding that the novel virus took two lives as well.

The tally now stands at 107,418 in the Kurdistan Region, with 102,763 patients already recovered while 3,504 others lost their lives since early March, and 1,151 cases remain active.

Earlier the day, the health minister stated that no cases of mutant COVID-19 have so far been detected across the Kurdistan Region, as Iraq has already registered a few infections in Basra and other cities.
