A Dozen Killed, Wounded in Airstrikes on Iranian Weapons Depots in Syria
ERBIL - Airstrikes targeting Iranian arms depots in Syria took place overnight on Wednesday resulting in the killing or wounding of 12 people, a monitoring group said on Thursday.

Israel was said to have carried out the air raids which targeted the Iranian weapons depots where seven individuals were killed while five others were injured as well, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Acting Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz noted that Iran believed that Israel was behind the attack.

"According to foreign sources, the air force attacked the Iranian troops in Syria," Katz told Ynet. "As far as Iran knows, it was us. It was an extremely challenging action from a military perspective."

Israel has repeatedly accused Iran of attempting to build up military bases, viewing Tehran as a threat for Tel Aviv in the future.
