ERBIL — Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) held another meeting on Sunday to continue the negotiations over the next government of Kurdistan Region.

The two major Kurdish parties have been in talks for months as the PUK is pressuring to secure a larger share for itself in the next cabinet.

Delegations from both sides discussed details of their partnership to proceed with the attempt to establish the new government, according to a joint statement released after the meeting.

They also reiterated commitment to a previous political agreement they signed earlier in March.

Talks will continue and the delegations are set to convene once again during the coming week, said the statement.
