ERBIL — At least two Turkish troops were killed on Saturday in armed an confrontation with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Turkey's defense ministry said.

The ministry revealed in a statement that eight other soldiers were wounded during the clash which took place in the border areas of Kurdistan Region.

According to the statement, six PKK fighters were “neutralized”.

Turkey often used the word “neutralized” to keep it obscure whether the PKK fighters were killed or captured.
