Kurdistan Seeks Good Relations with Neighbors: PM
ERBIL — The Kurdistan Region seeks to promote good relations with neighboring countries, Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani said on Thursday.

He received a Turkish delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sedat Onal to review the relations between Erbil and Ankara.

Barzani noted during the meeting that Erbil is committed to further fostering ties with Turkey, especially in the fields of economy and trade.

Discussing the Erbil-Baghdad relations at the current stage, Barzani highlighted Iraqi counterpart Adil Abdul-Mahdi’s good influence on resolving a great part of the disputes. The Kurdish premier said Erbil is ready to work with Baghdad in hopes of finding solutions to the remaining disagreements.

The Turkish delegation confirmed that Ankara is also willing to develop stronger economic relations with Kurdistan. Onal also congratulated Barzani on his nomination as the next president of Kurdistan.
