ERBIL — A Kurdish employee in Duhok province on Tuesday returned IQD 17,000,000 (approximately $15,000) after a bank handed him the money in a mistaken transaction.

Haval Hassan Salih works for the general directorate of education in Duhok. He was surprised when the bank gave him a huge amount of cash while he asked for his monthly salary only.

He later realized the mistake by the bank’s employee, and immediately returned the money.

Salih’s office published his pictures and issued a statement to value his ethics.
