ERBIL — The Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) on Saturday attended the National Peace Symposium in the UK to further strengthen the ties with international organizations advocating peace across the globe.

Awat Ahmed, the BCF envoy to the EU, represented the Kurdish charity organization at the event which is annually held and hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of UK.

Ahmed told BasNews that hundreds of organization members, lawmakers, governors and representatives of different religions were present at the event, all reiterating “The Critical Need for Peace” as this year’s slogan.

He noted that the head of Ahmadiyya community, during a speech, showed support for the Kurdish rights and warmly welcomed the BCF.

“There is a strong relation between us and Ahmadiyya Community based on humanitarian works and human rights advocacy,” Ahmed added.
