Locals Protest Against Turkey-PKK Conflict on Kurdistan Border
ERBIL - A number of people gathered on Saturday in Shiladze, in Kurdistan Region's Duhok province, protesting the prolonged military confrontation between the Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters in the region which has recently resulted in the killing of civilians.

Due to the military rivalry between the Turkish military and the PKK in Shiladze, several civilians have either been killed or wounded, the latest of whom were six individuals last week.

However, while intended to be a peaceful gathering, the crowd were, as BasNews has learned, led to storm the Turkish positions and setting a Turkish base on fire.

BasNews, has previously published detailed reports on the Turkey-PKK armed conflict in the region, due to which, tens of villages have so far been evacuated by civilians.
