Iraqi Shi’ite Militias Kill, Wound 35 IS Militants in Cross-border Attack
ERBIL — Iraqi Shi’ite militias of Hashd al-Shaabi announced on Friday an artillery attack against the Islamic State (IS) in Syria which reportedly killed and wounded 35 jihadists.

According to a statement, the artillery attack targeted the IS positions in the Syrian border town of Sousa.

Qassem Muslih, the Commander of the Shi’ite militias in Anbar province, claimed that the IS militants had planned an attack against Hashd al-Shaabi on the border.

“Terrorist leaders are among those killed (Abu Wadhah and Abu Hamza) and the commander of the group (Abu Fattoum),” Kurdistan 24 quoted the statement.
