US Congress: Including Kurd’s name on the terrorist list was a mistake
U.S. government and legislative officials announced that the inclusion of the Kurd’s name on the U.S. black list was a mistake, calling for a review of the decision as it was "inappropriate" towards their friends in the Middle East.

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) reported that after Kurdistan Regions’ President Masoud Barzani apologized from visiting the United States as the U.S. administration had officially invited Barzani and after a clarification by the KRG representative in the United States, the US Congress had discussed the matter.

The statement said that officials acknowledged that the name of the Kurds has been included on the blacklist of America by mistake, stressing that the Kurds are against terrorism and support peace and stability.

The statement of the President of the Foreign Relations Committee in the congress Oidrues said that the inclusion of names of Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan on the blacklist has been mentioned inadvertently and by mistake" adding that they were for decades the reason for the stability of the region and the security and peace in it, while a terrorist organization such as al-Qaeda and affiliated organizations spread throughout the Middle East."

Oidrues demanded to review the situation and inappropriate decision towards their friends (the Kurds) in the Region, pointing out that this issue would cause a deterioration of relations with America.

Oidrues wondered, according to the statement, “Does the administration supports a legal decision to raise the name of Kurds from the blacklist?”

For his part, American Deputy Foreign Minister for Iraq and Iran Affairs, Brett Mac Curk said according to the same statement that Kurdistan Democratic Party and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan were America's closest friends in the region for decades, stressing the need to raise their names from the blacklist in the fastest time.

He added that this issue requires a legal legitimate, declaring its support to solve this issue in cooperation with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and committees of Congress.
