Kurdish prime minister heads to Baghdad
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced a delegation led by Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani visit Baghdad today to iron out the problems caused by oil exports to Turkey.

Barzani is scheduled to discuss with the leaders of the National Alliance, and officials in the federal government disputes and outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil.

“The delegation composed of Deputy Prime Minister, Imad Ahmed, a number of ministers, specialists and consultants, pointing out that the delegation will meet with Prime Minister of the Federal government, Nuri al-Maliki in Baghdad,” The spokesman of KRG, Saven Dzia said in a statement, on Wednesday.

The central government and the Kurds differ over how to interpret the Constitution’s references to oil and how revenues should be shared. The Kurdish share was set at 17 percent after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, although the Kurds frequently complain they get less than that.
