61 police officers wounded in Saidsadq protests
Due to the past two days` protests in Saidsadq District, 61 civil activity police officers have been wounded.

Three days ago, protests started in Saidsadq asking for services, claiming that the city lacks essential services such as universities, hospitals and etc.

“61 officers have been wounded by tear gas and stones thrown at them in Saidsadq`s protests in the past two days.” spokesperson of Sulaimani Police Department said.

Currently, the condition of all the wounded officers is stable, but “one of the officers needed instant surgery due to severity of his wound upon his arrival to the hospital,” the source added.

Due to the protests, the Head of Municipality and District Officer of Saidsadq have presented their resignation letters to the Governor of Sulaimani.
