Barzani receives USAID Associate Administrator
In a meeting yesterday, Dec 3, 2013, Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received Mark Feierstein, Associate Administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and an accompanying delegation from the General Consulate of the United States in Kurdistan Region.

The main theme of the meeting was about the Syrian Refugees in Kurdistan Region, discussing their educational, health, and social issues. Barzani ensured KRG`s support for the Syrian Refugees as far as they could, but also emphasized that the refugees require more help currently; he, for this reason, mentioned the need for help from the Federal Government of Iraq.

Another aspect of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of settling down the refugees in a safe zone within the Syrian borders. On his side, PM Barzani approved the idea and showed his support for the notion.

At the end, Mr. Mark Feierstein thanked Barzani and KRG for their continuous support for the Syrian Refugees and said they will do their best to help the refugees on their side.
