Yesterday, Nov 24, 2013, the KRG Council of Ministers held a meeting. The meeting was headed by PM, Nechirvan Barzani, with the presence of the Deputy PM, Emad Ahmed.

The main theme of the meeting was to discuss the issue of the Kurdish youths who have been moving to Syria in favor of supporting Islamist groups, such as ISIS, to participate in the conflicts are ongoing now in Syria. The KRG has discussed to restrict the security conditions to stop the youth in moving to Syria.

Also the oil-piping project to Turkey was discussed.

Yet to come, the most important aspect was to assign a date for Kurdistan Region Provincial Elections.

The council decided in the meeting that the Provincial Elections of the Kurdistan Region should be held on April 30th of the New Year.

For this purpose it was decided that the Council should notify the Higher Electoral Commission through an official memorandum about the appointed election date.
