Kurdistan ready for parliamentary elections
Kurdish regional administration is ready for upcoming parliamentary elections to be held on September 21,media reported.

All the preparations for parliamentary elections to be held on September 21, were completed in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, electoral official said.

"Preparations conducted to hold a transparent vote finished," Serbest Mostafa, president of Iraq's Independent high electoral commission told after a meeting in Erbil.

31 political parties will compete for the 111 chairs in Parliament, while 2.8 million people are eligible to vote in the elections.

Mostafa said that civilians would cast their votes on September 21, but eemployees for Interior Ministry, security, hospital and prison staff would vote on Sept. 19.

"We are acting in accordance with the world's standards. We urge everyone to be transparent," president of the commission said.

3,119 observers will monitor the elections with 192 of them will be foreigners and 628 journalists will follow the polls.

Election propaganda will continue till 00.00 am on September 18, and voting will start at 7.00 a.m. on September 21.
