Partial ban, border and airports crossings to be closed in Kurdistan’s polling day
Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) revealed that it will impose a partial ban and cut the main roads between the provinces of Kurdistan, as well as the closure of all airports and border crossings on the ballot day for Kurdistan Parliament election.

“IHEC has decided to take some action after coordinating with the security agencies across the province, in order to hold the election process smoothly,” a source in IHEC told “Shafaq News”.

“More than 6,800 polling station the centers will be waiting for about 2.8 million voters in the three provinces of the region“.

“ There will no mobile polling stations in remote or mountainous areas , because we believe we have covered most of the populated areas by fixed electoral stations“.

“All material logistics of the polling day will be ready and we are waiting for polling day,” he added.

It is scheduled to hold elections of Kurdistan Parliament in 21 of current September in three Dohuk , Erbil and Sulaymaniyah provinces.
