Canada to open representative office in Kurdistan
Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Imad Ahmed, discussed with Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Gwozdecky, current political situation in Iraq and the area, as well as results of Kurdish delegation to Baghdad and results of their talks they had.
A statement to the press issued on Wednesday, July 10, by the Government of Kurdistan Region, said that the meeting was because the end of Ambassador Gwozdecky, term in Iraq.
It added that the two touched on the participation of Canadian investors and firms in the construction process of Kurdistan Region.
Ambassador Gwozdecky pointed out that his country intends to continue developing its political and economic relations with Iraq, including Kurdistan Region, and is planning to open a representation office in the Region to consolidate bilateral relation and upgrade bilateral cooperation.
