President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani received yesterday July 9, 2013 a delegation of Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (KDPS) in Salahadin, KRG’s official website reported.

President Barzani discussed with a delegation of Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party the current situation in Syria in general and Kurdistan of Syria in particular, assessing the events and recent developments in Syrian Kurdistan.

For his part, Barzani explained the importance of unity among Kurdish political party in Syria as it is an opportunity for the Kurds to achieve their national rights, which are violated by Syrian Baath regime for decades.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria, commonly known as KDPS, is a Kurdish Syrian political party founded in 1957 by Kurdish nationalists in northern Syria; it is banned in Syria due to the Syrian government not allowing opposition political parties to form.
