President of Kurdistan region, Masoud Barzani received the new US Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Beecroft, and Paul Stephen, previous American consuls to Kurdistan Region, accompanied by new U.S consuls to KRG Joseph Pennington on 8th July.

In a meeting, they discussed the current Iraqi political situation and ways to strengthen KRG and U.S bilateral relations.

President Barzani wished success for both the new Ambassador Beecroft, and new Consuls Pennington. He also praised the role of Paul Stephen during his position as the US Consuls in Erbil.

Barzani briefed the guests of his visitation to Baghdad and said that people expected positive outcomes from the negotiations between Baghdad and Erbil.

He also said that meeting between Erbil and Baghdad would continue to the point of reaching peaceful solutions to current problems preventing Iraqi political process form further progression.
