Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari discussed with U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft Iraq's diplomatic efforts to get out Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.

This came during a meeting between Minister Zebari and the US Ambassador yesterday in the capital, Baghdad, where they talked about the Iraqi relations - U.S. in the framework of strategic cooperation agreement.

They also discussed internal and regional situations after the elections that took place in Anbar and Nineveh.

The development of the Syrian crisis and its impact on neighboring countries and the region was another issue discussed in the meeting.

Both sides also talked about Iraq’s ongoing diplomatic efforts in the UN Security Council to get out of Chapter VII of the UN Charter and the ongoing preparations for the Foreign Minister's visit to Washington in the near future.
