Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs revealed in Kurdistan regional government on Monday, giving the permission for one of the mosques in Sulaymaniyah city to deliver Friday sermon in English.

“After the large influx of foreign workers to Kurdistan region, including thousands of Muslim workers who can speak Kurdish language, the Ministry of Endowment has given the approval to Sulaymaniyah city to deliver Friday sermon in English,” The Director of media of Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs in Kurdistan, Marivan al- Naqshbandi told “Shafaq News”.

“The Ministry of Endowment agreed today to deliver the sermon in the Haockari mosque in Iazadi neighborhood in Sulaimaniyah city,” he added.

This is the first time in Kurdistan region Friday sermon will be delivered in English in one of its mosques.
