Erbil to host Iraq’s largest international trade fair for 7th year
Decision-makers from not only the Kurdistan Region but also other parts of Iraq are expected to visit the exhibition to meet the national and international exhibitors.
Minister Falah Mustafa Bakir, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Head of Foreign Relations, said, “Erbil International Fair has gone from strength to strength and shows that Erbil is a hub for Iraq’s economy. We are delighted that many international exhibitors are participating. The Kurdistan Region is open to foreign trade and investment to ensure our economic progress and prosperity.”
The Erbil International Fair has established a solid track record. Thanks to Kurdistan’s good security and stability, the fair is able to attract many international exhibitors and visitors from all parts of Iraq. Last year’s fair attracted 75,000 visitors, one third professional visitors and two thirds the general public.
Several government and commercial organisations are supporting their countries’ presence at the fair, such as the Turkish Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, UK Trade and Investment, and France Agency for International Business Development, to name a few.
During the fair, which takes place from 24 to 27 October, several foreign delegations will visit the Kurdistan Region to look at the many opportunities for trade and investment.
