Kurdistan regional government (KRG) Prime Minister Barham Salih received on Thursday Polish ambassador to Iraq Stanislaw Smolen in his office in Erbil.

During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed the importance of cementing bilateral relations between Kurdistan region and Poland in all aspects.

Stanislaw Smolen said that Kurdistan region has progressed in many aspects especially in political and security and it is stable region, saying that his country would offer its demand to Iraqi foreign ministry to open its consulate in Erbil.

He also said that his country decided to cooperate with Kurdistan region in protecting artifacts and areas of archaeological in Kurdistan region, saying that his country would participate in reconstructing Erbil Castle.
