Speaker of Kurdistan Region Parliament Dr. Kamal Kirkuki , in the framework of his visit to New York , met with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger .

Kissinger , at the meeting , described the Kurds as brave people who presented many sacrifices, noting that he closely follows the Kurdish issue and supports its activities and support the achievements of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Kissinger expressed his support for the Kurdish people against all plans that have a negative role on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region.

For his part, Kirkuki clarified that the Kurdish people are strugglers and peace-loving, they managed to continue their struggle against the dictatorship, and were able to establish federalism in Kurdistan Region of the federal Iraq.
