Within the framework of his official visit to the United States, Dr. Kamal Kirkuki Speaker of the Kurdistan Region Parliament and his accompanying delegation visited the U.S. Congress in Washington, where they were received by Peter King, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security.

At the meeting , they discussed a number of common interest issues as well as the current situation in the political arena in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues and agreed on the need to support the democratic process in Iraq and the region.
