President Masoud Barzani has reaffirmed his commitment to peaceful resolution efforts following a message from Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Ocalan urging disarmament.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Barzani Headquarters, the Kurdish leader welcomed Ocalan’s message, expressing hope that it would pave the way for a renewed peace process.

"We consider peace the only right way to resolve the issues, and we hope that Ocalan's message will mark the beginning of the peace process," President Barzani stated.

Ocalan’s message, conveyed by Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk, called for the PKK to lay down its arms, a move that could signal a turning point in decades of conflict.

Reaffirming his long-standing support for peace, Barzani stressed the importance of dialogue and reconciliation as the only viable path forward.

"We emphasize our unchanged position and support the peace process in Turkey with all our might," he declared.

The statement comes amid ongoing regional efforts to foster stability, with both local and international stakeholders closely monitoring the potential for renewed negotiations.
