Sidad Barzani Declares, “No One Feels Halabja’s Pain More Deeply Than President Barzani,” in Call to Unite for List 190

In a powerful speech at a mass gathering in Halabja, Sidad Barzani, a member of the Executive Committee of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), urged the residents of Halabja, Sharazoor, and Hawraman to rally behind the 190th list of the KDP in the upcoming elections. Barzani highlighted the enduring significance of Halabja in the Kurdish struggle and the pivotal role of President Masoud Barzani in the region's history.

Barzani praised Halabja as a symbol of the Kurdish people's rights and sacrifices, emphasizing its critical role in the liberation movement. “Halabja has always been the center of struggle and sacrifice. The chemical attacks and genocide committed by the occupiers have never weakened the will of its people,” he stated. He expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering loyalty of Halabja, Hawraman, and Sharazoor, recognizing their steadfast support for the KDP throughout challenging times.

He underscored that the people of Halabja have a profound connection with President Masoud Barzani, affirming, “No one feels your pain more deeply than President Barzani, who has shared in your sacrifices.” Barzani urged the community to prioritize the needs of Halabja, emphasizing that their votes for List 190 on October 20 are essential for ensuring the region’s future.

Highlighting the sacrifices made by the people, Barzani remarked, “The sacrifices of the people have not been adequately rewarded. Serving this community is not just a duty; it is a source of pride.” He reiterated the KDP's commitment to public service and progress, echoing the core values instilled by the late President Barzani: “It is a pride to be a servant of one’s nation.”

In his closing remarks, Barzani called for a strong turnout for List 190, asserting, “We are not against anyone; we seek peace and prosperity. The KDP is the party that will protect the sovereignty and dignity of Kurdistan.” He encouraged the audience to channel their spirit of resistance into democratic action at the polls, reinforcing that their votes will empower the KDP to better serve the needs of Halabja and its surrounding areas.
