The Christian Alliance has issued a robust defense of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, condemning what it describes as an "unjust and unfair" campaign targeting the Kurdish leader. In a statement released today, the Alliance—which represents a coalition of Chaldean, Syriac, Assyrian, and Armenian Christians—emphasized that these attacks are part of a "failed attempt" to undermine both Barzani's leadership and the achievements of his government.

The Alliance argued that the criticisms against Prime Minister Barzani are driven by "malicious agendas" intended to destabilize the Kurdistan Region and its democratic progress. They pointed out that Barzani's leadership in the ninth cabinet has resulted in significant accomplishments, and the current campaign against him is seen as an attempt to obscure these achievements.

Moreover, the Alliance warned that the attacks on Barzani are aimed at delaying the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kurdistan. They described any postponement of the elections as a "declared war against the democratic values" that Barzani has consistently upheld as central to his governance.

The statement further noted that Prime Minister Barzani is being targeted due to his "relentless and ongoing war" against corruption and those who threaten the stability and progress of the Kurdistan Region. The Alliance made it clear that Barzani's firm stance against corruption and his defense of the region's interests are the primary reasons behind the intensified attacks against him.

In a call for unity, the Christian Alliance urged political parties and civil organizations to avoid spreading hate speech and engaging in political defamation, stressing the importance of respecting political and civil leaders to ensure societal stability and security. The Alliance reiterated its strong support for Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his government, asserting that those who seek to undermine him "will inevitably meet with failure and disappointment."

The Christian Alliance includes the Hammurabi Coalition, the Chaldean National Council Party, the Chaldean Democratic Union Party, the Syriac Assembly Movement Party, the World Chaldean League, the Shlama Christian Affairs Movement, the Administrative Committee of the Armenian Orthodox Community, and the Armenian Social and Cultural Association.
