KRG Delegation Attends 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
A high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), consisting of Kamal Muslim Saeed, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, arrived in Russia on Tuesday to participate in the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The prestigious forum, which will officially commence on Wednesday and continue until November 8, will feature the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, along with several other prominent Russian and international officials. This year, the event has drawn 12,000 attendees, including representatives from 130 countries, highlighting its significance on the global economic stage.
The KRG delegation's presence at SPIEF follows an official invitation, underscoring the importance of the Kurdistan region's economic and trade relations with Russia and other participating nations. The forum, established in 1997, has a longstanding history of fostering dialogue on critical economic issues, attracting over 10,000 participants from more than 120 countries annually. Since 2006, the event has been personally overseen by President Putin, further emphasizing its importance in Russia's economic calendar.
The KRG representatives are expected to engage in high-level discussions and networking opportunities, aimed at promoting investment and trade between the Kurdistan region and other global economies. Their participation highlights the KRG's commitment to expanding its economic partnerships and attracting foreign investment to support its regional development goals.
