Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Encourages Kurdistan Women's Union to Foster a Patriotic and Peaceful Generation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region - In a significant address at the ninth congress of the Kurdistan Women's Union, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani emphasized the pivotal role the union should play in shaping a generation characterized by patriotism, peace, and environmental consciousness.

Prime Minister Barzani, who also holds the position of Vice President in the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), extended warm congratulations to the participants and expressed his hope that the decisions and recommendations arising from the congress would propel the Kurdistan Women's Union forward in its mission to serve the people.

Highlighting the historical contributions of the union, Barzani praised its consistent support for the Peshmerga forces during various stages of the liberation struggle. He expressed gratitude to the women who have been at the forefront of advocating for the rights of Kurdistan women.

"In the history of the Kurdish people, women have always played an important and leading role," noted Barzani. He cited examples of women's courage, patriotism, and sacrifice during Kurdish uprisings and revolutions, emphasizing their active participation in serving and protecting the land alongside their male counterparts.

The prime minister acknowledged the impactful role of Kurdish women in the post-1991 era, highlighting their active involvement in the institutions of the Kurdistan Region and their contributions across various fields. Barzani underscored the increasing participation of Kurdish women in senior government positions, citing notable progress in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Looking towards the future, Barzani urged the Kurdistan Women's Union to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of its past activities and formulate a strategic roadmap for the upcoming phase, taking into account the rapid technological advances of the present era.

"I ask the Kurdistan Women's Union to play its leading role in raising a patriotic, peaceful, environmentally friendly, and efficient generation to preserve our experiences and achievements and further develop our country," concluded Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, emphasizing the importance of the union in contributing to the broader goals of societal development and progress.
