Kurdistan Region – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Region reinforced his commitment to the protection and empowerment of women across diverse sectors in a statement released on Monday, coinciding with the 71st anniversary of the Kurdistan Women's Union.

Barzani expressed his dedication, stating, "On this occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the rights of Kurdistan's women and to strengthening their role and position in administration, and also to continue developing their abilities."

The prime minister commended the Kurdistan Women's Union for its significant contributions to the region's liberation movements. He described the union as a "school" that has successfully educated numerous capable and competent women leaders, shaping their roles in society.

Notably, under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the current cabinet has seen a noteworthy increase in women assuming prominent leadership roles. The prime minister highlighted this progress, pointing out that several women leaders, including the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, have been integral parts of his cabinet.
