Tragic Incident in Kirkuk: Two Kurdish Youths Shot Dead by Security Forces

In a distressing incident on Friday evening, security forces in Kirkuk opened fire on two Kurdish youths near the Domiz neighborhood, leading to their tragic deaths. The victims were identified as Hadi Shakur and Ibrahim Shwan.

According to reliable sources from BasNews, the National Security forces had established a checkpoint near the Domiz neighborhood. As the two Kurdish youths, Hadi Shakur and Ibrahim Shwan, were passing by on a motorcycle, they were signaled to stop and dismount from their bike. Acting in compliance, one of the youths dismounted, while the other moved the motorcycle as instructed by the security forces.

During this critical moment, and without any apparent justification, the security forces fired shots at the two young men. The hail of bullets left both Hadi Shakur and Ibrahim Shwan with severe and life-threatening injuries. They were immediately rushed to Azadi Hospital in Kirkuk to receive medical attention.

Tragically, Hadi Shakur succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Ibrahim Shwan fought for his life but, unfortunately, succumbed to his wounds on Saturday morning.

The news of this devastating incident has sparked outrage among the local community. Ibrahim Shwan, a resident of Erbil, had returned to Kirkuk on Friday for a visit. Reports indicate that both young men were unarmed and did not possess any weapons or harmful devices at the time of the encounter.

The incident has raised serious questions about the actions of the security forces and the circumstances leading to the use of lethal force against the two unarmed youths. The authorities are being urged to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter to determine the factors that led to this tragic loss of life.

The families and friends of Hadi Shakur and Ibrahim Shwan are mourning the loss of their loved ones and demanding justice for the senseless act that claimed two young lives. Local leaders and human rights activists are also calling for accountability and measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

As the investigation unfolds, the community remains on edge, hoping for answers and accountability in this heartrending incident that has left Kirkuk in grief.
